Carved from a whole tagua seed, this ring's shape is dictated by the seed's unique size and form, which makes each piece one-of-a-kind.
Tagua is sometimes referred to as a nut, although it is literally the seed from a specific palm tree in South America. It is also referred to as "vegetable ivory" since it carves much like elephant ivory although it is a natural sustainable material. These rings feature the original cream color of the seed, and some even show its veined "skin" which is deep brown in color.
Each ring is hand-carved and varies in color/skin to exhibit its one-of-a-kind quality. However, you can choose whether you want more skin or less skin (see photos for reference). Tagua provides an alternative to cutting down rainforests for farming, and does not contribute to elephants being killed for the ivory in their tusks.
