new york wedding: sara + david get wed with linhardt custom rings
Sara and David have both been strong supporters of Linhardt Design since we were in our East Village location. In fact, I even remember Sara attending our Grand Opening back in 2008 when we first opened our doors to the public! This, in addition to the fact that they are incredible people, is why it was so special to work with both of them on their custom jewelry projects for their one-and-only New York wedding.
David is a designer by trade and was very fun to work with as a result since we treated all four rings as a collaborative art project – which is how I LOVE to approach bespoke jewelry commissions. David wanted to take inspiration from moving water – with the three large responsibly-sourced diamonds set in the engagement ring asymmetrically askew, as with rocks naturally found in a creek. We peppered the engagement ring with tiny diamonds throughout and made two accompanying wedding rings to be perched on either side of the main ring. These two rings nest perfectly into the main engagement band and can also be flipped on to themselves to nest within each other perfectly – which allows for multiple configurations. Both are eternity bands reinvented – as they are set in a more “purposefully organic” and flowing curve to echo flowing water. David’s wedding band was designed off a pattern that David sketched. It was so precise we made his ring with the help of Rhino software. All four rings are hefty pieces in solid platinum. Take a look at the results of our collaboration, as well as these gorgeous wedding photos shot by Katie Osgood! Thank you so much for working with me, I had so much fun!
