alexis + brad’s phd-inspired engagement ring
Congratulations to Alexis and Brad who just got engaged with a custom ring they spent months collaborating on with me. Alexis is a PhD candidate in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Cornell University who is currently in the midst of her thesis on a certain Asclepias syriaca flower which inspired the custom design. The gallery that houses the main stone is all hand-filed according to the skeleton of the flower species. The ring creates gorgeous tones with its Linhardt custom mix of 18k “Champagne” Gold along with a naturally-colored and responsibly-sourced Malawi Sapphire that has a color and brilliance to die for! Was a great project, will be sad to see this piece go but know it will be enjoyed!
